Funny Christmas Poems for Kids

Funny Christmas Poems for Kids

Today I post another Christmas poem or winter poem for Children called Christmas Ice. I wrote some funny Christmas poems for children and Xmas poems for kids. Merry Christmas and white Christmas is what I am looking for when i go back to Sweden for my Christmas holidays next week. We will have a “real” Christmas tree this time I hate plastic trees but what can you do – it is summer here. It is very difficult to get a real “Christmas feeling” if you are from Scandinavia, I can tell. 🙂

Christmas Poems for Kids

Today I will post some Christmas poems for kids. The first one is an acrostic Christmas poem or it is more a winter poem. But I am on my way back to Sweden for “real” Christmas and winter time;  so perhaps I am a bit inspired of the coming winter season and Christmas holidays in Europe.  🙂

How to write Acrostic Poems?

Acrostic poems are very easy to write. Just pick a name or word like WINTER and write a word or phrase for each letter – and you have your first acrostic poem.

Here is another example by one of our great poets and master Lewis Carroll.

A Boat Beneath a Sunny Sky

Lewis Carroll (from Through the Looking Glass, 1871) is an acrostic poem of the real Alice’s name: Alice Pleasance Lidell inspired the children’s classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

A boat, beneath a sunny sky
Lingering onward dreamily
In an evening of July –

Children three that nestle near,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Pleased a simple tale to hear –

Long has paled that sunny sky:
Echoes fade and memories die:
Autumn frosts have slain July.

Still she haunts me, phantomwise,
Alice moving under skies
Never seen by waking eyes.

Children yet, the tale to hear,
Eager eye and willing ear,
Lovingly shall nestle near.

In a Wonderland they lie,
Dreaming as the days go by,
Dreaming as the summers die:

Ever drifting down the stream –
Lingering in the golden gleam –
Life, what is it but a dream?

Santa’s Brother by Milou

Podcast: Listen to Santa’s Brother

Santa is sick for the holiday
So his brother will take his place
But Santa’s bro´ I must say
It’s really a plain disgrace

He lies still all day, and doesn’t move
He doesn’t even blink
Everything’s hard and nothing is smooth
Santa’s progress is going to sink!

Santa’s brother is really still
He seems to be very lazy
Oh, would you please listen, if you will:
Santa’s bro´ is pushing daisies

I just ate some candy
That I found upon the floor
They did look very dandy
But their taste was like a rotten door

They tasted like mud and fungus
And like penguin meat
They tasted like thinks you find on a bus
Or like my grandpa’s smelly feet

In addition, the sweets were sandy
They really tasted crude…
